Write about your life. Your joys, Your triumphs. Your struggles.
Keep it interesting. Long. Short. Vary your work.
Leave a part of you in your work, so we can identify you by your words.
Leave your legacy. Write from your heart and from your tears.

Well said! If this is what you believe then I believe you are in writing for the long haul. And that is important because everyone at some point thinks about being a writer but the authentic writers are the ones who just write. I prefer the phrase just be because then you are always being a writer and the writing will always come if you think that.
